Player Background

After being released by Mamelodi Sundowns while still injured, veteran defender Matthew Booth has opened a new chapter late in his career by signing with Ajax Cape Town as a free agent. The 34-year-old is amongst the tallest players in the PSL and will bring some much needed experience to the Urban Warriors\' backline. He played in the 1994 tournament for Fish Hoek FC where was then scouted and offered a move to Cape Town Spurs.
