Match Report - 56 - Highlands Park vs Bidvest Wits

The final game of our Saturday night last 16 tie saw the two PSL academy teams take each other on. The first half saw both teams start off strong, however the not much was created at either end. The keepers were more like spectators as the two teams were evenly balanced and neither could dominate the game.
Late in the second half Bidvest broke down the side of the field with an amazing run from Keegan Allan as he broke into the box and crossed the ball from the byline. This was met by Tatenda Shamu and tucked away clinically, as the keeper never had a chance to react. The late half goal gave the young glamour boys a boost as they went into the break.
In the second half of the game saw Bidvest use the speed of their wing play to put Highlands Park under pressure and saw the team having to make some last ditch tackles to keep them in the game. Highlands Park pushed hard towards the dying minutes of the game and won a few free kicks around the Wits box but could not make the most of them and Bidvest hit them on the counter but neither team could capitalize on their chances.
