City of Cape Town
The City of Cape Town is a proud partner of the annual Metropolitan Premier Cup. This event has developed progressively over the past 21 years and now deservedly is recognized as an annual major event on the events calendar of the city. The fact that this tournament takes place over the Easter weekend, and consistently attracts thousands of spectators, speaks volumes for the brand which this event has developed and sustained. And so we are proud to be associated with this event because it contributes to the profile of the city nationally and internationally.
Amateur sport in Cape Town has traditionally survived because of the passionate dedication and commitment of volunteer administrators. These are men and women who sacrifice their personal time to be of service to the rest of society, especially our youth. The city is immensely proud of the set of volunteers who belong to Bayhill Football Club as they epitomize the spirit of volunteerism – something which we will require in abundance during the World Cup in 2010. I trust that many of these officials will avail their services as volunteers in whatever capacity during that event.
May all the participants and visitors enjoy their stay in the Mother City and may you have a safe journey home after the tournament with nothing but fond memories of our city.
