Highly-rated Nigeria midfielder Ejike Uzoenyi has revealed he could join SuperSport United but says nothing has yet been finalised.
Uzoenyi was named the player of the tournament at the recent CHAN tournament in South Africa, helping his country to a third place finish.
The Enugu Rangers playmaker, who has previously played in Europe with French Ligue 1 club Rennes, is now hoping to force a move to the Premier Soccer League club but insist nothing has been agreed by the two clubs.
"I'm back in Nigeria now after holding talks with a club in South Africa. Nothing has been agreed upon yet but my manager will continue to discuss with them," the 25-year-old told Nigerian publication Vanguard.
However, Enugu general manager Paul Chibuzor insists Uzoenyi is still a Rangers player, playing down reports he could leave before the new Nigerian Premier League campaign kicks-off later this month.
"We are very happy by the successes recorded by our players at the recent CHAN competition and much happier with the fact that clubs are scrambling for the services of some of them especially, Ejike Uzoenyi who is still our player," he said.
"Details for any move have not been completed but when it becomes clear, we shall celebrate it. Ejike Uzoenyi is and remains a Rangers player. I am not aware of any move to deny Rangers what belongs to them."
