    Lentjies upbeat after victory

Maritzburg United midfielder Kurt Lentjies was left smiling after his side gained a much-needed three points in a 3-2 win over the University of Pretoria on Sunday.

Making his first appearance since returning to the club from SuperSport United, Lentjies scored a penalty and was instrumental in the Team of Choice's two other goals.

"I was pleased with my performance and that I could contribute to the side, but the main thing was to get the three points against Tuks," Lentjies told the club's official website.

"[During] the second half we came out of our shells and scored three goals," he added.

"It was like a cup final for us, we really needed to get 2014 off to a good start.

"It was a tough game though. Tuks were on top of us for the first half especially, I think they had an advantage in that they had already played one game this year."

Having recorded an important victory, Martizburg will need to keep that positive mindset as they head into Tuesday's clash with table-topping Kaizer Chiefs.

"Wherever Chiefs play it's like home for them, and they are on a nine-match winning streak, so the pressure will be on us," commented Lentjies.
