Bloemfontein Celtic kept their top-eight ambitions on track as they saw off the University of Pretoria with a 2-0 scoreline at the Free State Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
Keagan Buchanan put Phunya Sele Sele in front after 27 minutes before Frank Mhango doubled the hosts' advantage right on the stroke of half-time.
The result saw Celtic climb to ninth in the standings, albeit on goal difference, while AmaTuks finished the day in 11th, just four points clear from the relegation zone.
Neither side were able to find any rhythm in the early stages as a series of fouls and free-kicks disrupted any potential flow, and the home fans had to wait until just before the hour mark for something to cheer as Tsietsi Mahoa fed the ball to Buchanan, who slotted home past Tuks goalkeeper Washington Arubi.
With just moments to go in the first-half Celtic again pounced, this time Joel Mogorosi providing the assist, with Mhango firing home a right-footed effort to put Ernst Middendorp's men two goals to the good.
The hosts continued to dominate after the break, with Musa Bilankulu getting a shot on target, although one that was easily dealt with by the keeper, while Clayton Daniels sent a header over the cross bar from a Keagan corner.
One of Tuks few attacks came towards the closing stages as Ronald Ketjijere got his head on the end of a decent delivery, but he was unable to find the target and sent his header looping well over.
