Bidvest Wits-bound Thulani Hlatshwayo said he was relieved to have avoided any mistakes for Ajax Cape Town following Friday's 1-0 win in the Mother City.
The 24-year-old produced a man of the match performance at the Cape Town Stadium to help the Urban Warriors to three valuable PSL points, with Carl Lark netting the winning goal against the 10 men of Wits following Kofi Dankwa's first-half sending off.
And, with Hlatshwayo having already signed a pre-agreement with the Clever Boys, he was delighted to have shown the Ajax faithful he remains fully committed to the side, despite his intentions to leave at the end of the season.
"Heading to the game I knew for a fact that I couldn't afford to make a mistake, especially not against Wits as I'm joining them at the end of the season," he told Football411 in an exclusive interview.
"Even if I made an ordinary mistake, it would hit the fans hard and they would go all out and criticize me. I knew that after revealing that I'll be moving, a mistake I make, even if it's common to all players, it would be more sensitive coming from me so I have to make sure I go all out in each game for this wonderful club."
He added: "I just want to honour the last few months of my stay here and play to the best of my abilities. I know it wont be enough to repay what the club has done for me, but it's purely for my heart and I will forever be indebted to them."
